HOMEWORK

Students are expected to read 30 minutes EVERY night.  They may also receive additional at home practice as needed.

ATTENDANCE

School begins promptly at 7:55 and ends at 2:05. It is important for your child to be there on time as instruction begins shortly after the bell rings.  By being present and on time, your child will experience a greater level of success.

If your child is going to be absent, please contact the office to notify them first.  If you do not do this, your child will be marked as having an unexcused absence/tardy.

If notice is given, I will do my best to gather the missing work if you wish to pick it up at the end of the day.

MANATEE MONEY

Each student has a "checking account" containing Manatee Money.  Money can be earned and deposited for demonstrating positive behavior, academic success, and good decision making.  A student may have to withdraw money as a result of negative behaviors.  Manatee Money can be used to purchase supplies in the classroom and/or at the monthly "5th Grade Flea Market" at which students buy and sell items from home.

FRIDAY FOLDERS

Each week, a folder will be sent home with your child containing graded work and occasional school/classroom information.  Please review these items, sign the folder, and return the following school day.
